Campaign Finance Reports

Candidates who do not choose the Modified Reporting Declaration option are required by state law to file semi-annual campaign finance reports (Form C/OH) with the City Clerk’s office. These reports are due January 15th and July 15th of each year, and reporting requirements end when a candidate has filed a final report with the City Clerk. Retention for semi-annual reports is the date of filing + 2 years.

Effective September 1, 2023, and in compliance with H.B. 2626 (88th Legislature), relating to the availability of certain reports of political contributions and expenditures, the City is making the campaign finance reports filed with the City Secretary's Office available for a period of five (5) years from the date of filing. (Per section 254.040 of the Texas Election Code) The redactions on the reports are in compliance with the bill specifications, and any questions or complaints related to the content in the reports or the failure to submit reports should be directed to the Texas Ethics Commission who is the regulatory authority for these finance reports.
