Mayor Davision Tours City Hall with Former Mayor's Daughter

Yesterday morning, March 20, 2023, Mayor Davison toured City Hall with a special guest— Brenda Sanzone!

Brenda Sanzone, nee Fenn, is the daughter of former Mayor Doyle Fenn, who served the City of Manvel from 1991 to 1994.

Brenda has never lived in Manvel; instead, she grew up in Deer Park, where she attended the same high school where her father, the late Mayor Fenn, worked as a principal. During her stint at Deer Park High School, Brenda met fellow classmate Steve Davison. The two hit it off, becoming fast friends and remaining close until they graduated in 1970 and life took them all their separate ways.

Doyle Fenn later retired to the City of Manvel, where he found his way on to Manvel City Council and served as Mayor for three years.

Shortly after Mayor Fenn's tenure, in 2008, Steve and his wife Debra Davison moved to the city. In 2018, Debra followed her predecessors' passion for service and took on the mantle of Mayor.

Brenda and Steve reconnected recently while collaborating on their 50th high school reunion. After a lot of catching up, they learned of their mutual connection to Manvel City Council and the city as a whole. Through Steve, Mayor Davison was eager to invite Brenda to tour one of the facilities her father helped pave the way for.

During her visit, Brenda was able to see how far the City of Manvel has come since her father's term in 1991, and at the culmination of the tour commemorated her trip with a photo next to her father’s portrait on the Mayoral Wall in City Hall Council Chambers.

Mayor Davison was honored to have the opportunity to share in such an incredible moment. It is a testament to how small the world can be and a reminder that we are all connected to one another in impossibly improbable ways.
