The Manvel Police Department is currently working an Aggravated Robbery at the Valero Convenience Store located at 17514 Morris Avenue, Manvel, Brazoria County, Texas.

At around 12:30am an unidentified white male entered into the store, went behind the counter, grabbed the clerk from behind, held a knife to his neck and demanded the money from the cash drawer. The clerk complied with the suspect; however the clerk sustained a laceration to his hand after a brief struggle. The suspect fled in a vehicle that was being followed by an off duty Iowa Colony Volunteer Firefighter.

While fleeing the scene the suspect vehicle wrecked into a canal full of water and the suspect fled on foot. An extensive search for the suspect by Alvin PD and Brazoria County Sheriff Department K-9 units along with Houston PD’s Fox Helicopter came up with negative results.

Once removed from the canal, the suspect vehicle turned out to have been reported stolen through the Manvel Police Department from the same Valero on Friday, June 19, 2009.

The suspect (Unknown W/M possible Hispanic Height 5’08”, Weight  130 – 140 lbs.) in this case is suspected to be involved in several major crimes in the Ft. Bend County area according to their deputies on scene.

The Clerk was treated at the scene by Manvel EMS.
