"VOLUNTEERS WANTED"

Applications are being accepted for the following Volunteer Commissions, Boards and Committees:

Appointments are made annually and as vacancies occur.  Most terms are for 2 years.

Volunteers play a key role in keeping the City government close to the people it serves and provides ideas, feedback and suggestions and may serve as a sounding board for proposed policy.  The City of Manvel City Council depends on the input from residents serving on Boards, Commissions and Committees.  These Boards, Commissions and Committees advise the City Council, City Manager and City Staff.

If you are interested in volunteering your services, please feel free to print a Volunteer Application located under the "Documents" tab, then select "Volunteer", or pick one up from the Manvel City Hall, City Secretary's Office, 20025 Hwy 6, Manvel, TX, Monday - Friday, during regular office hours.  Questions may be directed to the City Secretary's office at 281-489-0630.

4-H members around the state are supporting our firefighters through collecting donations of water, lip balm, Gatorade, and other needed items. Attached is the flyer that is being used to collect these items.  See the flyer for drop locations and more information.

CITY OF MANVEL BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED.

 Reminder:  Burn Permits Expire December 31, 2011.

2011 Tax Rate Information

CITY OF MANVEL ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.  THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 2.13 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $2.71.

To be considered for employment for the Police Department positions you will need to fill out the paperwork found on the Police Department's website: http://www.manvelpd.org/employment.htm. You can also pickup an application packet at the Police Department.
