At the City Council meeting on August 7, 2023, Council approved the renaming of the Community Services Department to the Public Works Department, effective immediately. This renaming comes as part of the city's commitment to better align its services and operations with the needs of the growing community.
The newly-named Public Works Department will oversee crucial divisions, including Streets, Utilities, Parks, Facilities & Fleet Maintenance, and Capital Projects. This transition reflects the department's dedication to maintaining and enhancing essential infrastructures that contribute to the quality of life for all residents and businesses in Manvel.
"We believe this name change to Public Works captures the essence of our department's mission and underscores our focus on serving the community," said Robbie Hall, Director of Public Works. "We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing efficient and reliable services that benefit the people of Manvel."
As the Public Works Department, the team will continue to work diligently to ensure safe and well-maintained streets, efficient utility services, and proactive infrastructure and drainage improvements. Residents can rest assured that the department remains dedicated to providing the exceptional service the community has come to expect.
The City of Manvel invites the community to embrace this change and looks forward to continuing its collaborative efforts with residents and local businesses to make Manvel an even better place to live, work, and grow.
