Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (CIQ)

The Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (CIQ) form requires disclosure of certain business and gift giving relationships, if any, that individuals or businesses may have with local government officials as defined in Chapter 176.001(1-a) of the Local Government Code. This form must be filed with the City Secretary not later than the 7th business day after the date that the person becomes aware of the facts that require the statement to be filed. A person commits an offense if the person knowingly violates Section 176.006, Local Government Code. Conflicts Disclosure Statement (CIS)

Chapter 176 of the Local Government Code requires a Conflicts Disclosure Statement (CIS) to be filed with the City Secretary when a local government officer becomes aware of facts that require the officer to file this statement as defined in Chapter 176, Local Government Code (see link above). A local government officer commits an offense if the officer knowingly violates Section 176.003, Local Government Code. Local Government Code 171

Local Government Code Chapter 171 requires City officials to disclose certain interests in a business entity or real property stating the extent of the interest.  If the threshold requirements are met, the official must file an affidavit and must abstain from further participation in the matter. Section 171.004(b) stipulates the completed forms must be filed with the official records administrator (Office of the City Secretary, City of Manvel) of the governmental entity.
